I had a nice little endoscopy this morning to see what’s going on in my stomach. Here are some really pretty pictures of my esophagus and stomach!! According to the doctor’s report, they are both excellent. It was an amusing time. The guy in the waiting area next to me decided to pass his times by singing hymns and just generally being crazy; my doctor was blasting some AC/DC when I was rolled into the exam room, which I found to be a bit concerning; and my nurse told me her entire life story, right down to her 21 year old gay son, Eddie, who works at Madame Tussauds in NYC. It was ridiculous.

Mom is visiting to take me to the doctor tomorrow, and she came prepared to do a bunch of mom things around the house. She replaced my dead bushes with flowers, repotted any indoor plants she could salvage, went grocery shopping, and did laundry. It was very exciting. Thanks, Mom!

Today was Seth’s graduation! It was a beautiful day that was only moderately hot, not heat exhaustion hot. This is Seth with his roommate (and one with me!). Now that I officially know several people with law degrees, maybe I’ll finally have someone to stop me from admitting fault to car accidents that are not necessarily my fault. A girl can dream.

Seth had a reception deal at school today, which meant there was an occasion for him to wear real shoes. I was excited. I spent our time there lurking around the thousands of tables of hors d’oeuvres and pretending to understand lawyer talk. They had some tiramisu that treated me just right.

I found this little jewel at Kirkland’s today: a neck pillow with a built in ear hole! Ridiculous. I didn’t buy it.

I upgraded to the iPhone 4S a couple days ago, and Dad took over my old iPhone—heart covered case included. He is actually going around the US—NC, California, Arizona, and who knows where else—talking on this ridiculous looking phone. One of his friends sent this picture out this afternoon. I love it; so much so that I made the picture my computer background.

I pretended to be a law student today and did work in the law library while Tyler had his Bar review course. I didn’t fit in. Tyler also modeled his good and fancy cap for me. Afterward, we went to see The Dictator. Our years of education have clearly been wasted.

Today is Mom’s birthday!! We celebrated by going to see Dark Shadows together. I gave her a wind chime with a solar powered glass ball that changes colors, and tonight we got to see it light up. It turned out to be much cooler than I expected. Happy Birthday, Mom!

Dad and I visited Grandma Eudy this afternoon and she showed us some more coins Grandpa had been collecting. I had no idea he was such a big coin collector. He had some pretty old ones that I had never seen before, but my favorite was a silver dollar he carried around with him for years. It was in his pocket for so long that the face started to rub off of it. Crazy.

Brandon and Dana came over today, and we had a joint Mother’s day and birthday celebration for Mom. She was silly enough to let me put a stegosaurus candle on her birthday cake.

Today, Seth drove me home to the Fjord to meet Rocki and Mr. Bo and to attend a mother’s day/graduation dinner at North Harbor Club. We went by boat, and Grandma and Grandpa Hartsell joined us. I’d say it was a pretty good evening. I also showed Seth the main attraction around here: the Super Target. I don’t know if he was as impressed as he should have been.

I spent my morning creeping in on Tyler’s law school graduation from a poorly managed video feed. Right as he was about to get his hood and diploma, the screen went blank and I missed it all. I was furious. Don’t worry, he was still able to officially graduate without me watching. Congratulations!

On my way to the Hendrick body shop place in Durham today, I got behind this truck full of goodies. I was hoping the driver would pull over and hand out free samples, but he didn’t, surprisingly.

I took a trip to the doctor today to find out why I feel like throwing up every second of my life. They had no idea but took a lot of blood to find out. Exciting!

I think we need to talk about how much I love pierogies. Maybe this has already been a picture; I don’t really care. All I know is that the only thing I want to eat lately is a plate of pierogies with a big dollop of Daisy on top. Thanks, Peter Romanov.
